Heritage Workshops
   
  > Workshop 1 - Heraldry
  Study the coat-of-arms codes through game-playing and productive activities. Children ages 8 to 12 (3rd grade -7th grade)
Purposes: children learn to recognize the codes of heraldry and use them to create their own coat of arms.
  > Workshop 2 - Military Architecture in the Middle Ages
  Learning about the castle's defensive system from the point of view of the assailants or the defenders. Children ages 9 to 14 (4th grade - 9th grade)
Purposes: having identified all the defensive elements of the castle through the mission entrusted to them, the children will have perfect knowledge of the defensive system.
   
  > Workshop 3 - Besieging Techniques and Weapons of the Middle Ages
  Introduction to siege warfare and the handling of offensive and defensive weapons Children ages 8 to 13 (3rd grade - 8th grade)
Purposes: the handling of weapons combined with the explanation provides a practical knowledge of the warfare techniques used in the Middle Ages.
   
  > Workshop 4 - the Art of Calligraphy
  Introduction to Gothic Handwriting Chilren ages 8 to 13 (3th grade - 8th grade)
Purposes: the children are instructed to perform gothic handwriting and to compose illuminated letters. They learn to use a new tool, the stylus.
   
  > Workshop 5 - Measures and Measuring in the Middle Ages
  Discovering the measuring system used in the Middle Ages Children ages 9 to 13 (4th grade -8th grade)
Purposes: the children learn to measure in feet and thumbs (inches) and apply these measures to building a mock-up.
   
  > Workshop 6 – Arts and pleasures of the table
  A discovery of the food and dining customs in medieval society
Children aged 9 to 14 (upper primary – lower secondary)
Purposes: Children are involved in preparing and composing meals in a medieval castle. They learn all about dining customs in practice in the late Middle Ages and banquet formalities.

Open every day, all year round.
February, March and from Oct. to 11 Nov. : 10am to 6pm - April, May, June, Sept.: 10am to 7pm July, August: 9am to 8pm - From 12 Nov. to end of January: 2pm to 5pm Nighttime visits at 8:15pm every evening except weekends
Last admission 1 hour before closing time Unguided visits last from an hour to an hour and a half. - Medieval shop/bookshop open all year round, tavern in season
