With its concentration of 600 meters of easy to follow passageways and galleries, you can fully appreciate the splendour of this cave.
Every vault, every drapery, every floor is spiked with calcite, stalactites, stalagmites, draperies, eccentric pillars.. All types of concretion are to be found in this priviledged universe. The pure colours of white or slightly ochre shade are lovely. Cave art too is well represented. The prehistoric paintings dating to the Magdalenian period, some 17,000 years ago, are a living testimony of our ancestors' artistic skills. Some, such as the horse rotunda, are covered with a fine calcite film giving them this unusual blue colour.

  > The Painted Chamber
On the roof of the chamber is a depiction of an important group of horses: a mare, a partially hidden horse, a galloping horse or a finely draw stag's head. These paintings date to the Magdalenian period, some 17,000 years ago. This chamber also offers us a rare representation, the "man-bison".

  > The Candle Chamber
It is in this chamber decorated with a handsome collection of stalagmites, that the first paintings of Villars were discovered, representing a horse's head, a bison and a bovine head. Many paintings are hidden beneath the calcite.

  > The Font Chamber
The Font Chamber owes its name to two very peculiar natural formations shaped like rimstone pools. This chamber is well decorated with stalactites and stalagmites. From one end of the chamber, one gets a very handsome view on the Chaos Hall, where large blocks from an age-old collapse pile up under massives concretions.
And visit also the Hall of Scratches, the Great Stalagmite, the Great Balcony, The Passage, the Hall of Chaos and the Hall of Discovery...
