Here local craftsmen bring an exceptional heritage back to life and all events in the village, even the "1900" fun fair, are free.

Since its foundation, Le Bournat village has been constantly changing and renewing its features and attractions.

More than 160,000 visitors come here each year, to spend a few hours or a whole day. The originality and unique character of the place have made it the number one touristic site in the Dordogne.

A fun fair, traditional fairground attractions and games of the past will make present-day children roar with laughter… In the streets of the village, activity leaders will bring to life again tunes and songs, stories and legends of yesteryear, for the delight and enjoyment of adults.

There are also country, “guinguette” (popular drinking establishments serving as restaurants and often as dance venues) and storytelling themed evenings, and great sowing and threshing festivals, etc. Without forgetting the delicacies – bread which has just been baked in a wood-fired oven, traditional-style jams, freshly pressed nut oil, “enchauds” (pork fillet with garlic) and foie gras that can be savoured “Chez Paul”, the village’s restaurant, or at the gourmet shop.
